Heléne
was born in Vancouver, Canada in February of 1985. Her family moved to Los Angeles a little over a year later, where she was soon followed by two brothers, Lancelot (Lance) and Sutherland (Sudsy). Heléne started dancing at the age of three while living in Atlanta, Georgia. The family moved back to LA, and then on to Minneapolis for 3 years before returning to LA for good. Heléne found herself loving dance and made her way to top ballet studios wherever she lived. Dance remained a constant in her childhood, adolescence, teen-aged and now adult life. She discovered a love for acting and singing while at Paul Revere Middle School in Los Angeles. Dance, singing and acting came together for her then. Heléne was a terrific student with good grades and glowing behavior reports – all while very active in the school theater departments. She graduated from Palisades Charter High School (Pacific Palisades CA), and headed to the arctic north to become a Musical Theatre Major at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). There it was all Musical Theater, all the time! It was fantastic being around so many great student artists who were equally passionate about their craft. After graduation she moved to New York City, showcased with Michigan graduates, and was signed by Nicolosi & Company. Not long after, she made her New York and Off Broadway debut in Walmartopia, which opened at the Minetta Lane theatre in September 2007. Following Walmartopia she joined the National Tour of Disney's High School Musical as Sharpay. This past fall she appeared in What's That Smell: The Music of Jacob Sterling at the Atlantic Theatre Company, before making her Broadway debut in September (2008) as Marty in Grease. Heléne has performed in numerous readings and concerts in New York City. She is currently performing as Glinda in the second national tour of Wicked. |
