Wicked

Helene Yorke, who was in Music Theatre of Wichita's 2005 ensemble, is making a triumphant homecoming of sorts as Galinda/Glinda. Yorke plays the future good witch as the epitome of perky blondeness, and opening night she did so with such delicious abandon that she kept the audience roaring with laughter.

Her 'Popular' — about trying to make over the dowdy Elphaba — is a show-stopping highlight. But Yorke (best remembered here as Val in 'A Chorus Line') pairs that comic sensibility with a beautiful voice that can soar into operatic ranges for the gravitas of 'No One Mourns the Wicked.'

(Heléne) Yorke and (Marcie) Dodd are forces of nature in their leading roles, with powerhouse voices that defy gravity and characterizations that bring out the charm in each witch.

the gazette—September 2009

(Marcie) Dodd and (Heléne) Yorke are each brilliant in their own right. They are also paired perfectly, neither overpowering the other, both with a fantastic set of pipes and excellent comic timing. Whether front, center and solo or performing a duet, these ladies sparkle brighter than those slippers that set so much shit into motion in the first place.

We meet Glinda, the ditzy, self-centered blonde and then some. She's really the center of Act One. Yorke played her with a fine, comic touch. Her "Popular" is a real treat.

What’s That Smell — The Music of Jacob Sterling

The last number is an extended excerpt from Sterling's big long-awaited Broadway debut: A crassly commercial corporate-sponsored celebration of consumerism called "Shopping Out Loud" in which three fresh-faced young performers (played appealingly by Brandon Goodman, Matt Schock, and Helene Yorke) sing and dance in praise of one retail chain after another.

High School Musical

Best in the cast are Bobby List and Heléne Yorke as the stars of the school's drama club. Yorke offers a fierce villain in Sharpay with List shining as her brother Ryan. Yorke, a rising star herself, gives a radiant tour-de-force performance that is both demonic and ultimately touching.

—April 2008

Heléne Yorke (Sharpay) and Bobby List (Ryan) are perfect comic foils as the not-very-menacing rivals to the leads in the school musical, and they sing and dance with great skill.

—March 2008

The fact that their paths lead them to try out for East High's upcoming musical upsets the delicate balance of the school's clique system. It's particularly troublesome for Drama Club president Sharpay Evans, played by the scene-stealing Heléne Yorke.

—March 2008

Heléne Yorke sizzled on stilettos as Sharpay, the president of the drama club and resident witch.
